The Italian Embassy and ILOMOCA Present "La Vita nell’Arte: An Exhibition on Life and Art"

ILOILO CITY, PHILIPPINES — In simultaneous celebration of the Italian Week of Contemporary Art and the National Museums and Galleries Month in the Philippines, the Embassy of Italy in Manila and the Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Art (ILOMOCA) proudly unveil La Vita nell’Arte: An Exhibition on Life and Art. Curated by Cristal Esguerra, Megaworld Museums Curatorial Officer, the exhibition serves as a vital cultural bridge, honoring centuries of European artistic traditions while fostering contemporary innovation.

The exhibition features a stellar curation drawn from the prestigious The Edwin V. Valencia Collection (EVV Collection). The selection explores the profound Mediterranean and Italian aesthetic influence on modern and contemporary global art. Visitors will witness an eclectic dialogue of canvases, prints, and installations where artistic references, personal mythologies, and historical narratives intersect.

The private vernissage was officially opened by His Excellency Davide Giglio, the Ambassador of Italy to the Philippines. To mark the strong ties between the regions, local Ilonggo artists Sonny Tolentino III and Charmaine Española presented a commissioned collaborative piece inspired by the Italian architectural design of the upcoming Firenze Residences in the Iloilo Business Park.

La Vita nell’Arte is presented in partnership with Firenze Residences by Megaworld, with special thanks to the Iloilo Business Park, Festive Walk Iloilo, and the Richmonde Hotel Iloilo.
